<p>Small Business September (SBS) is the longest running, most comprehensive, month long event program hosted by Industry &amp; Investment NSW and is designed specifically for small businesses and their business and educational needs.</p>
<p>Now in its 11th year, this annual celebration highlights the important role of small business to the social and economic fabric of the State. The event program will allow businesses to discover new technologies, trends and tools to help grow profitability, the events also allow for small business owners to come together and make connections. The Small Business September 2010 program promises to help small businesses across NSW “Connect for profit”.</p>

<p>Good afternoon.</p>
<p>For those I have not had the pleasure of meeting my name is Stuart Allardice and I am the newish Economic Development and Tourism Manager for BSC.</p>
<p>Each year Tourism NSW offers marketing dollars for events across the state. These can range from $5000.00 up to $30,000.00 depending on the event.</p>
<p>The following message has been received from TNSW : -</p>
<p>As a heads up, please be aware that the Minister for Tourism will shortly be announcing the opening of the Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for regional events to apply for funding under the Regional Flagship Event Program.</p>
<p>If there are any events in your area who you believe would benefit from the Regional Flagship Events Program please forward this information.</p>
<p>Please encourage Event co-ordinators to read through the conditions which are available for download from our corporate website to ensure that their event is eligible for funding.</p>
<p><strong>Expressions of Interest will close at 5pm Friday 23rd July 2010</strong>, any EOI&#8217;s received after this date will not be accepted.</p>
<p>You can visit the Regional Flagship Event Program page on Tourism NSW&#8217;s corporate website at http://corporate.tourism.nsw.gov.au/RegionalFlagshipEvents_p703.aspx</p>
<p>Event co-ordinators can also register their interest in the new Regional Events workshops that we are planning on running from late July early August.</p>
<p>If you know of any event co-ordinators that would like to attend these workshops can you please encourage them to register their interest on the direct link provided on this page.</p>
<p>If you are interested in applying for funding please give me a call and I would be very happy to assist.</p>

<p>The Bellingen Chamber of Commerce annual Crazy Day for 2010 is not far away – It’s all happening on Saturday 19<sup>th</sup> June and we’d love you to be a part of it.</p>
<p>All businesses receive some benefit from Crazy Day as it brings many, many people into Bellingen, although some do receive more immediate benefit than others.  That’s why we have 3 levels of sponsorship available – Major Sponsor, Minor Sponsor, and Supporting Business.</p>
<p>This year we again plan to run promoti0ns on Prime TV, NBN TV, The Coffs Advocate, and the Bellingen Shire Courier Sun.  There are great opportunities for you to promote your business in conjunction with our campaign as the Coffs Advocate and the Bellingen Shire Courier Sun offer a generous feature page on the Wednesday before Crazy Day.</p>
<p>The amount of exposure you can get for your business is only limited by your imagination and your enthusiasm.  This year we are returning to the ever popular street stall in front of your business with “CRAZY Specials” all covered by the Chamber’s insurance policy.</p>
<p>So, go crazy, and think of a promotional idea that will give your business an edge on Crazy Day.  Many businesses offer crazy discounts on Crazy Day but you can come up with lots of other crazy ideas that will be very attractive to the thousands of people that flock to Bellingen for this special day each year.</p>
<p>We are producing a new TV advert this year and have reinstated the opportunity for retailers to run street stalls in front of their shops</p>
<p>Most Major &amp; Minor Sponsors would expect to get an immediate and significant cash benefit from Crazy Day.  Most Supporting Businesses don’t expect an immediate cash benefit but recognise the benefit to Bellingen of Crazy Day by lifting the public awareness of what we have to offer and thus increasing business potential for every business in the area.  The very affordable sponsorship rates are as follows:</p>

<p><strong>Buskers are encouraged, but must register for allocated places. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Buskers can perform on Hyde St between Belmech &amp; NAB to the west and Yellow Shed &amp; Golf Club to the east as well as Church St from northern footpath to Nortec &amp; Edible Media in the south providing they perform on the footpath and &#8220;do inhibit pedestrian movement, particularly adjacent to areas of traffic flow&#8221; and &#8220;leave a minimum pedestrian corridor of 2.0m wide and 2.4m high on the side of the footpath closest to the road unless otherwise authorised by council&#8221;</strong></p>
