ScreenLinks is the NSW regional screen industry office for the Mid North Coast and Armidale regions. It represents the local film, TV and screen media industry and has been in operation for four years. ScreenLinks is one of seven regional film offices set up by the NSW State Government to support screen business in regional areas.
ScreenLinks works to support and expand the local screen industry and related business. One of the ways that ScreenLinks supports local business is through the creation of a new Screen Service Directory.
This directory will list businesses that support and benefit from film production in our region. The searchable database provides fast and easy access to facilities and service providers in the region. Filmmakers require the services of numerous local businesses whilst filming their production. From electricians, hairdressers, make-up artists, caterers, accommodation providers to restaurants and bars where film crews spend their wages whilst staying in the region during the film shoot. These are just some of the businesses that can benefit. We want these film companies to spend their money in our towns rather than bring equipment and product from the cities.
The first port of call for filmmakers is ScreenLinks, the official film office for the Mid North Coast and Armidale regions. ScreenLinks has underwritten the cost of developing the directory and is offering a reduced subscription to local businesses to promote their services and goods. The cost to subscribe to the Screen Service Directory on an annual basis is only $25 for a sole trader or $50 for a company over five employees. It is a wonderful opportunity to promote businesses to the film industry that visits our region, as well as to local filmmakers.
The Screen Service Directory is located at: www.screenlinks.org/directories/services/search.asp?SearchBy=Service
To subscribe to the directory just fill in the registration form on the ScreenLinks website by going to the above web link and clicking on Registration. Once you have registered you will be sent an invoice for the payment. As part of the annual fee the business will also be promoted in the ScreenLinks monthly e-news that goes out to approximately 360 subscribers. Subscribers are local, state and interstate residents who have an interest in the film industry.
