Hello all

Just a short note to say that on behalf of the Bellingen Chamber of Commerce I hope you all had a great Christmas and wish you all the best for the New Year in 2010

2009 seems to have been a mixed year for most of us in business in Bellingen and for those of you that normally experience an increase in business during the Christmas/New Year school holidays I hope that business has exceeded your expectations and would be happy to receive feedback from you on what your holiday trade has been like

2009 has been a good year for the Chamber – membership has continued to increase (tripled in last 18 months) with around 80 current members and we look forward to increasing membership further in 2010 with many increased benefits for members that we will let you know about during the year. Membership renewals will be sent out very soon and we would appreciate your prompt payment. 2010 membership fees remain at 2009 levels – $120pa or $10 per month and you are welcome to make payments by automatic monthly instalments if that better suits your budgeting

The Chamber continues to be involved in the following projects and we will keep you up to date on developments with these and other projects during the year – Bellingen Business Directory; Bellingen Chamber of Commerce Website; Crazy Day; Dr Hewitt Food & Tree Festival; EcoBello; Edible food trees planting (publicly accessible) of eastern approach to Bellingen; Planter pots and rubbish bin replacement in Bellingen CBD; Our Harvest program (Community Supported Agriculture); Truancy Reduction Program – in conjunction with local schools and police; Waterfall Way Centre and Tourism Bellinger – in conjunction with Dorrigo & Urunga Chambers; Welcome to Bellingen – sign competition and replacement

Regards Guy

Guy Saddleton – President
