Biographical information: Gwen Hanna
Gwen Hanna worked for many years in a technical role in the IT industry until she became ill due to working in a ‘sick building’. Gwen learnt about Building Biology and applied its principles to heal herself.
In addition to completing a Diploma of Building Biology and Certificate 1 in Mould Investigation and Remediation, Gwen has completed the “First Rate” energy rating course for domestic buildings (Victoria), the Green Building Council of Australia “Green Star Office Design” v2 course, and the Home Sustainability Assessors course for the federal government Green Loans program. She is a member of the Australasian Society of Building Biologists and was the Society’s founding Secretary.
Gwen moved from Melbourne to northern NSW in 2007, in order to live in a more healthy environment. With a passionate belief in educating people about environmental hazards and providing options to help create healthy homes and workplaces, Gwen has been a guest lecturer at the Australian College of Environmental Studies (Melbourne) and has given numerous presentations to community groups and at public forums.
Gwen’s business “Building Wisdom” provides education and consultation services to private clients, businesses, charitable organizations, schools, and government bodies. Services include:
