Inspector Brendan Gorman from the Coffs Clarence Local Area Command will be talking to business owners about crime prevention. He will be passing on tips and strategies to minimise the risk to your business of crime. Inspector Gorman joined the police in 1990, graduating in 1991. He has spent most of his working life policing in Western Sydney until his promotion to Inspector with Coffs/Clarence LAC in December 2011.

Ian Scott, a Community Account Manager with NBN Co will address the meeting to outline the NBN Co plans for wireless internet in the outlying areas of Bellingen Shire. Possible tower locations will be a hot item of discussion. Ian is happy to answer all your questions about this important initiative.

The actual township of Bellingen is slated for Fibre at some point in the future (timing not yet announced) , and the fixed wireless is for areas surrounding Bellingen. You will only get access to a single delivery method so if you are getting fibre at some stage, you will not connect to fixed wireless.

Therefore the audience for the fixed wireless is not premises in the actual township of Bellingen,

TOMORROW – We are launching Plastic Free April by having another public “PLASTIC FREEZE” in Bellingen. ALL ARE WELCOME – whether or not you are taking the Challenge. Be on either side of the main street between Church St and the Pub at 11:00 sharp on Saturday (this coming one – 31 March). Listen for the signal of 3 car horn beeps. Whip out a sign (A4 paper size or whatever) that says “PLASTIC FREE APRIL STARTS TOMORROW!” and FREEZE for 5 minutes – until you hear 3 car horn beeps to end the freeze. AND THAT IS IT! see you there!!
